Hello from the new site
For a while I ran this blog on WordPress. It worked, but every small change meant drilling through themes, plugins, and settings pages that all fought each other. Writing a post felt like admin work.
So I rebuilt it.
What this site is now
This is a static site. There is no database, no login screen, no plugins loading ads into places I never asked for. Every post is a plain text file on my computer. When I want to publish, I run one command and upload the result.
That’s it.
Why I like it
A few things feel different right away:
- Pages load almost instantly because there’s nothing to load.
- My writing lives in
.mdfiles I can read in any editor. - There’s nothing to break, patch, or log into on a Sunday evening.
- The design is quiet on purpose. No sidebars shouting for attention.
If you’re reading this, thank you for stopping by. More posts are coming.
